I Hated the Man
in the Mirror… Until This Simple NLP Mindset Technique and Beetroot Juice
Helped Me Build More Muscle, More Strength, and More Confidence
There was a time I avoided mirrors.
I
would walk into the gym in my small town in the USA, keep my head down, lift
what I could, and leave before anyone noticed me. I told myself I was “trying.”
But deep down, I felt weak — not just in my body, but in my mind.
I
wasn’t just struggling to build muscle.
I was carrying years of regret.
Regret
for quitting sports in high school.
Regret for letting stress control my habits.
Regret for every time I told myself, “You’ll never look strong.”
If
you’ve ever felt that sting in your chest when you compare yourself to someone
stronger… you understand.
But
everything started changing when I combined two simple things:
- A daily beetroot
juice habit
- A structured NLP
mindset technique to clear negative thought patterns
This
is not hype.
This is not a miracle claim.
This
is a real story about how mindset and consistency can reshape your strength —
physically and emotionally.
The Hidden Reason You’re Not Gaining
Muscle
Most
people think muscle growth is only about workouts and protein.
But
here’s what no one tells you:
If
your mind is repeating old regret stories, your body follows that script.
My
internal script sounded like this:
- “You’re too
skinny.”
- “You’re starting
too late.”
- “You never stick
with anything.”
Those
thoughts quietly controlled my effort. I would skip workouts after a bad day. I
would compare myself constantly. I trained with frustration, not confidence.
That’s
when I learned something powerful:
Your nervous system responds to the pictures and language in your mind.
That’s
where NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) comes in.
The Easy and
Effective NLP Mindset Technique (Step-by-Step)
This
is the exact process I used — the way a genuine NLP trainer would guide it.
Step 1: Identify the Root Regret
Sit
quietly. Close your eyes.
Ask
yourself:
“When
did I first feel not strong enough?”
For
me, it was a memory from high school — being picked last for a sports team.
Notice
the memory clearly:
- What do you see?
- What do you
hear?
- What do you feel
in your body?
Don’t
avoid it. Observe it.
Step 2: Shrink the Memory
Now
imagine that memory as a small image in front of you.
Make
it black and white.
Push it further away.
Shrink it until it’s tiny — like a small photo in the distance.
Notice
how your emotional intensity lowers.
This
simple mental shift weakens the emotional charge attached to regret.
Step 3: Replace the Identity
Now
create a new mental movie.
See
yourself:
- Walking
confidently into the gym
- Lifting with
controlled strength
- Standing taller
- Wearing clothes
that fit your stronger body
Make
this image bright.
Make it colorful.
Bring it closer.
Turn up the sound of encouragement.
In
NLP, this is called “submodality shift.” You’re literally changing how your
brain codes the experience.
Repeat
this daily.
Your
brain starts accepting this stronger identity as normal.
Step 4: Anchor Confidence Physically
While
visualizing your stronger self, press your thumb and finger together firmly.
Hold
that feeling of strength for 10 seconds.
Do
this repeatedly.
Soon,
pressing your fingers together will trigger that confident state automatically
— even before workouts.
Where Beetroot Juice Comes In
Now
let’s talk about the physical side.
Around
the same time I started this NLP work, I added a simple daily habit: beetroot
juice before workouts.
Why
beetroot?
Beets
naturally contain nitrates that support healthy blood flow. Better circulation
supports oxygen delivery during exercise, which may help endurance and
performance.
I
wasn’t looking for magic.
I
was looking for support.
Here’s
the simple recipe I used:
- 1 medium fresh
beetroot
- 1 small carrot
- ½ lemon
- Small piece of
ginger
- 1 cup water
Blend
and drink 30–45 minutes before training.
That’s
it.
No
extreme ingredients.
No complicated system.
The Emotional Shift That Changed
Everything
The
first real change wasn’t my arms.
It
was my posture.
After
two weeks of consistent NLP visualization and beetroot juice before workouts,
something felt different.
I
wasn’t dragging myself into the gym anymore.
I
walked in with intention.
My
strength started improving gradually — not overnight, but steadily.
But
the real transformation?
The
voice in my head softened.
Instead
of:
“You’re weak.”
It
became:
“You’re improving.”
That
shift alone changed my consistency.
Why This Works for So Many in the USA
In
America, we grow up in competitive environments. Sports. Work. Social media
comparison.
Many
men and women aren’t just fighting physical weakness.
They’re
fighting identity wounds.
When
you combine:
- A mindset reset
- A consistent
pre-workout ritual
- A supportive
nutrition habit
You
create alignment between mind and body.
And
alignment builds confidence.
Removing Past Regret for Good
Regret
only survives when replayed repeatedly.
Here’s
what helped me permanently weaken it:
- Write down your
strongest regret about strength or body image.
- Read it out
loud.
- Ask: “What did
this teach me?”
- Rewrite the
story as growth instead of failure.
Example:
Old
Story:
“I quit when things got hard.”
New
Story:
“I learned I need structure and mental tools.”
That
reframe changes everything.
The Confidence You’re Actually
Searching For
More
muscle is great.
More
strength feels powerful.
But
what most people truly want is this:
- To feel
respected
- To feel capable
- To feel secure
in their own body
Confidence
doesn’t come from comparison.
It
comes from progress.
And
progress comes from consistency.
Consistency
comes from mindset.
